Fundraising for ACTF at the London marathon.

On Sunday, the 27th April 2025 , Professor Melanie Bailey of the University of Surrey became a Guinness World Record holder by completing the London Marathon dressed as a Cell and raising £1485 for The Analytical Chemistry Trust Fund.

“Going for a Guinness World Record was a fun but also tough challenge – not only did I have to train hard for the run, but also design and make a costume that would fit the strict requirements of Guinness World Records. I am hoping we can use the money that was raised to give early career researchers the springboard that they need to start a career in analytical science. It’s a great discipline with so many exciting applications and avenues for collaboration! “

Mel

Congratulations, Mel, on a wonderful achievement and for raising an amazing amount of money to support early career researchers in the future.
